Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program: launch of new pilot Employer Job Offer In-Demand Skills Stream

On August 16, 2017, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced launching the new pilot Employer Job Offer In-Demand Skills Stream, for which applications are now being accepted.


The pilot is targeting in-demand foreign workers with work experience and a job offer in specific occupations in the agricultural and construction sectors. OINP has also made available the Application Guide for the aforementioned stream. The Application Guide indicates that, in order to qualify, prospective candidates must have a permanent, full-time offer of employment in the National Occupational Classification Skill Level C or D, as follows:


NOC 7441 – Residential and commercial installers and servicers;

NOC 7521 – Heavy equipment operators (except crane);

NOC 8431 – General farm workers;

NOC 8432 – Nursery and greenhouse workers;

NOC 8611 – Harvesting labourers;

NOC 7611 – Construction trades helpers and labourers;

NOC 9462 – Industrial butchers, meat cutters, poultry preparers, related workers.


Furthermore, the offer has to meet prevailing wages in Ontario for the occupation in question.


The new pilot is streamlined under Employer/Job Offer category.
