In case of applications for permanent residence under the Express Entry system received on or after January 1, 2015, police certificates are now required for any country or territory, other than Canada, where the applicant has spent at least 6 months in a row within the last 10 years or since the age of 18. The new requirement applies also to applicant's accompanying spouse or common law partner and dependent children aged 18 years or older.
