Action plan to increase Francophone Immigration outside Quebec
Following the 2017 Forum on Francophone Immigration, and recognizing that Francophone immigration contributes to the country’s prosperity and vitality, federal, provincial and territorial ministers discussed concrete actions to increase Francophone immigration outside Quebec.
A new federal-provincial-territorial Action Plan for Increasing Francophone Immigration Outside Quebec was announced. The said Action Plan includes concrete steps such as:
Promoting awareness of Francophone immigration opportunities and options;
Increasing employer engagement in French-speaking immigrant recruitment and employment;
Increasing the availability and accessibility of French language services; and
Supporting diverse and inclusive Francophone communities.
As an immediate result of the Forum, a Symposium organized by the Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie will take place on March 22 in Calgary.
