Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announces key initiatives to promote Francophone immigr

On November 7, 2018, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced a range of initiatives aimed towards promoting Francophone immigration and reinforcing Francophone settlement services from pre-arrival to citizenship:


- the Centre international d’études pédagogiques has been designated as a second French-language tester for economic immigrants, starting in December 2018;

- Pearson airport, the number one port of entry for French-speaking newcomers who enter Canada each year outside Quebec, will assist in connecting new arrivals with the Francophone communities;

- the Canadian Government will invest in the Francophone Integration Pathway, creating ties between French-speaking newcomers and Francophone communities.


The announcement made by the Minister of Immigration marked the National Francophone Immigration Week (November 4 - 10, 2018).
