Rounds of invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system: January 10, 2

The first round of invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system of the new year debuted on January 10, 2019.

January 10, 2019 at 12:20:46 UTC -- 3,900 invitations -- 449 CRS points minimum -- tie-breaking rule January 2, 2019 at 11:40:53 UTC: candidates from Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Program eligible for this round of invitations.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continues to rank candidates in the pool using a points-based system, namely the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). IRCC selects the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply for permanent residence. In the event that more than one candidate reaches the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time of submission of their respective Express Entry profiles.
