Open work permit for applicants under the Interim Pathway for Caregivers

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced that applicants under the Interim Pathway for Caregivers who have received a positive eligibility assessment of their application for permanent residence are eligible for an open work permit, while they await for their application to be finalized.

An applicant's spouse, common-law partner and dependants who are in Canada and who are in status, on implied status, or eligible for restoration, may also be eligible for an open work permit once the principal applicant has received a positive eligibility assessment decision on their application for permanent residence.
